Sign & signifier & signified

Saussure defined a SIGN in 'theory of the sign' as being made up of the matched pair of signifier and signified.

People talk. We listen. They create a world of words and we perceive it. They expect us to see things as they see, understand everything as they want. The world of words changes, reshapes and posits itself in our minds with the help of our contexts.

Do we all need to perceive the world in the same way? Impossible. If this had happened, we could have been living in a colorless world.
